Q:  Are we open on public holidays?

Yes, sometimes we are, please ask us.

Q:  Can we stay all day?

Of course, we would love to have you.

Q:  How do I know which location to go to?

The salon location is sent with the booking confirmation text.

Q:  Why do you have two salon locations?

We can get pretty busy and need two salons.  As we are very near train and bus transport it is easy to get here from places such as Macdonaldtown, Chippendale, Camperdown, Darlington, Erskineville, Leichhardt, Glebe, Broadway, Sydney Uni, Annandale, Petersham, Lewisham, Dulwich Hill, Marrickville, Stanmore, Summer Hill, Waterloo, Redfern, Surry Hills.

Q:  Why do we keep the salon doors locked?

Because of the personal nature of our services it is not always possible to be in reception.

Q:  Cancellation Policy

We prefer that you give us 8 hours notice otherwise it is difficult to fill your appointment. This costs us money and others customers will miss out.

If you miss an appointment once we will be disappointed, if you miss it twice we may put you on "The list".

We still love people on The List but they need to pay up front for their appointments in future.

Please be nice and considerate.

Q:  Should men shave before a facial?

We recommend you shave the night before a facial.

Q:  Kids – Children – Loved ones?

Glow Girl is a child friendly salon - kids are free to come with you. Please let us know so we can co ordinate it with our other more quiet treatments. In the corner salon we have plenty of room, a play area and some things to amuse.

We are well practiced at juggling and great at beauty treatments.

Hydrabrasion @ Glow Girl!

In addition to the wonderful facials we already do, we’re introducing Hydrabrasion treatments for those of you who have asked for a more clinical and results driven facial.

What is Hydrabrasion?
Hydrabrasion is a clinical treatment that exfoliates the skin while simultaneously deep cleansing and vacuuming it. Customised with botanicals and a diamond tipped applicator, Hydrabrasion thoroughly removes dead skin cells, helps loosen pore plugs, and intensely hydrates the skin. Perfect for stimulating micro circulation and collagen & elastin production.    Hydrabrasion instantly brightens and smooths skin.

Is there any downtime?
No. You may be red and stimulated for the first hour after your treatment but because we do a detailed assessment of your skin prior to the treatment it is completely customised to your skin needs.

What is the difference between Hydrabrasion and Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion uses loose diamond crystals to exfoliate the skin. It can be very drying for the skin and targeted results in more ‘needy’ areas can’t be addressed as the skin is coated in opaque diamond crystals during treatment.

Hydrabrasion uses a diamond tipped applicator to thoroughly exfoliate the skin…we can see how the skin is responding as we are doing the treatment. On top of targeted results, the slight vacuuming action of the diamond tipped head combined with streams of water (customised with botanicals circulated through the tip) means your skin is intensely hydrated during exfoliation.

How often can I have a Hydrabrasion Treatment?
We recommend a Classic Hydrabrasion once a week for 4 weeks to start.   This is followed up with your regular 4-6 weekly facial with or without Hydrabrasion.

We offer a package deal on a 4 Hydrabrasion series.  There is a significant discount for the 4 x Classic Hydrabrasion Series.

Please ask about this package deal.

What you need to know about Spray Tans at Glow Girl!

What is it?
Dihydroxyacetone or DHA is a colorless sugar that interacts with the dead cells located on the skins surface. As the sugar interacts with the dead skin cells a color change occurs.

How long does it take?
We do 2 coats and your appointment will take 20 minutes all up.

What you need to know before tanning.
It is ideal if you can exfoliate your body prior to tanning especially the knees, ankles and elbows. Please remember that we offer a professional body exfoliation as well as products that you can use at home. Do not moisturize prior, wear deodorant or heavy foundation. But this is only the ideal. It is ok to just come in for a spontaneous tan. We can cater to your individual needs.

After your tan . . .
You will look good straight away. The brown colour that may be on your clothes is just a bronzer and will not stain fabric, it will wash out. You'll feel a bit sticky and we wouldn't recommend white, tight clothes, but basically you are ready to go right away. It is also important to remember that these products do not contain any sunscreen. So, if you are planning to go outside to show off your glow remember to apply sunscreen.

What do I need to do to maintain my tan?
We would recommend moisturizing your body, day and night to maintain your tan. We suggest that you try to not soak in a bath or spa and to avoid chlorinated pools to maintain the fabulous colour of your tan. Try to also avoid exfoliating as you will loose your tan.

How long does it last?
Cell turnover is different for different people.  It is generally faster when you are younger.

Your tan will be perfect for the first 4 days and then fade out gently over the next 4 days.

Because we tan on the conservative side it is ok to have a tan every week if you like.
